Been doing this over a year now and I'm still not quite sure how to define it. Is it art or not? Can we be said to be really creating our images, given that we're using computer programs and models made by others? And, for that matter, what is its official title? Personally I call my work "using Daz Studio because of a total inability to draw or paint." It doesn't exactly trip off the tongue. I suppose it doesn't matter in the end. As PG Wodehouse said, it makes me happy and keeps me out of public houses.
My main influences are Manet, Edward Hopper, Caravaggio and Pieter Bruegel. The first two gave me an interest in realism, the third created an addiction to light and shade, and the last nurtured my overall misanthropy.

Why Is This Here?
All my renders are there, including the ones I hate. There's also a rag-bag of assorted writings and photos.
I've also recently started a blog about this whole business:
Can't Paint Can't Draw
Thanks to everyone who's submitted Free Stuff to this site - especially some of the wonderful Vicky textures. Sorry to anyone who I don't credit. It's down to the disorganisation of my hard drive rather than an evil heart.

Ahem ... can it be thet you used the Millenium Environtment which only has the tree trunks but no crown? This looks like all trees were cut at the same level ... interesting that no one in the other comments has seen this ... shows a little bit how comments here work )o:

Actually I let the trunks stand as they were because they fitted with the posts in the backdrop. (Also lifted from Millenium Environment, of course.) But I'd welcome a few more critical comments in general. What someone should have said here was that this is a banal image, little more than a postcard, which says almost nothing about anything. In my defence, it was just knocked off in a break between 'proper' drawings.
