Doug Sturk has been drawing as long as he can remember: on walls, floors table tops. As an only child growing up in the Midwest, he learned to use his imagination and be creative. Encouraged by his mother, a graphic artist, he honed his skills and excelled in art. He claims to have preferred markers and regular scissors over crayons and safety scissors in Kindergarten. Eventually Doug put away his easel and paints trading up for his first copy of Poser... he's never looked back.
BIO
Doug continued to create as much as possible: award-winning 3-D artwork, landscape photography, Web design and writing. With his work at the former 3D Comic Collective (eventually www.animotions.com) he became well known for his comic book style of artwork. Doug's notoriety increased as he became the Web artist of "Shirtless Girl" on the nationally syndicated "Bob & Tom" radio show (www.bobandtom.com).
From Bob & Tom - Doug went on to work for various adult erotic story sites... just ask.

This is absolutely postively excellent. This is typical fantastic work from a man whom I always have regarded as one of the Poser Gurus/Gods.

I like this one too, but I really like the other version. Maybe cos it was a little more subdued. Couldn't tell you really. Both great images anyway.

Hi Doug. This is great. Is he going to the secret passage from the well to the Unknown Commander's office at the Jungle Patrol Headquarters? Sets the imagination going. Great pic.

Nice image, but I'm curious why you didn't just take the Poser scene and give it a Vue render. I do prefer the lighting here but I don't know if that had anything to do with a difference in your lighting choices or Vue itself. By the by, I didn't mention it before but the Phantom texture rocks.

Yowza! Douglas Sturk, you remain the MAN!

ya know Sturkster I'm torn...I love the dept of field Vue gives, where it is just a little blured in the back, but there is something about the straight poser render that this one doesn't have. maybe it is the dif pose or the dif lights. good of course, but different.

Now all together: "WE LOVE VUE!!!" ;) Nah, I think you did a great thing in changing the pose a bit and letting him face the blueish light somewaht more, as the impact is better in this pic than the Poser render. And offcourse, love the DoF and lighting. Especially the lighting, I think, is better than in Poser -as this blue/purple light draws much more attention to the main focus of the pic: the Ghost. ^^

It looks great, but I think I prefer the more moody lighting in the Poser render. The addition of the water is great, but in my opinion, the darker lighting suits the image better.

Hi Doug It looks great. Only suggestion I have would be to darken the water and may be reduce the light since he is in a tunnel. Love the face Keith

Nicer than the last version - and both are very cool.

I remember watching Phantom 2040 at the age of 13...those were the days.
