there is the rosary ( rosenkranz in german) for the catholics-one prayer is one bead and there is cross attached- have a great time and good luck

on dirait des chapelets !!! si je me souviens bien , on dit un AVE MARIA et un PATER NOSTER à chaque grain... ça reste à confirmer :) Il y a au moins un avantage, c'est très coloré, donc gai !!

Prayer beads and Rosery, these you can get in plastic, jade, ivory, All sorts of materials, the English ones usually have a litle extention with a cross attached. You are right, all the different colours together like that make a pretty picture. It is part of the culture and should be documented. Excellent image. Bravo!!!!!

I was curious if you heard of a place in America called New Orleans??? You probably have because they were devistated with a flood not too long ago. I brought them up because they used beeded necklaces for something quite different. Durring Marti gras, they give the necklaces to the women for a flash... Not the type of flash photographers are use to either - lol. So in some reguards, they are spiritual because the men that hand them out say: "oh, my God..." I hope you liked my little lecture to your upload... good looking picture - what I said is what I thought when I seen it.

Mon dictionnaire d'anglais me donne ' rosary' pour ces chapelets colorés et qui me rappellent ceux que j'ai vus au Népal, dans les mains des moines bouddhistes, parfois. Une très belle photo, comme d'habitude!
