:) Belize..well known earlier in the 80’s as British Honduras.. Its neighbours - South part of Guatemala and Honduras .. it is important for its Mayan Temples and the ‘two seasons’ …wet..and wetter :) they say…close to Ecuador ..hot, humid, smts it rains, then the sun comes up and then you have the most beautiful sky or at least that’s how I find it.. it’s different from region to region and the people are wonderful. You drive by and you see crocodiles, pink/orange iguanas so you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to wildlife. Don’t want to sound like a brochure now :) I’ve been to Belize last year and it’s nice to see it again…some things changed the landscape but most of it it’s preserved – raw jungle and beautiful resorts. This pic was taken when I visited the Altun Ha Temples.. This local merchant was trying to sell souvenirs to tourists – I liked his smile and ruggedness, also how he waved back to me when I drove by on my way back – he was thrilled I took his picture for some reason. Next time if I take this tour again I will be giving him the print. I found him sweet and he moved me. I like shooting ppl like him. ..the rugged and simple reality of their lives.
