Description

Well, here is the Water Elemental. I had a hard time deciding how to do one, and it ended up being a big guy, but anyway, here he is. I have no idea how I would do fire or air, but I'm thinking about it. Those 2 would require a lot of hand painting and I don't think I'm very good at that. I used Bryce 5 for this, because its faster and less buggy than 6.1. Thanks for looking. Bryce, Poser

All I can envision is the guy at the wheel, spinning it and spinning it and spinning it, trying to turn away...but it's too late, moo ha ha haaaaaa!!! Beautiful image, LOVE the waves! The lighting rocks too!

Holy sh*t...good image...crit,though...the sails...in most of the models I've seen, they are always full wind...I would think a storm of this severity would whip them about some.....same as the renders when seas are calm yet sails are full...can you rip her apart some?...never tried myself!

WOW! Great stuff! I love your heavy seas there. I agree with yardobe on the sails, maybe a texture map with holes and rips. Also, do the other elementals need to be human???

Artist comment - I totally agree about the sails. I have tried ripped textures but I didn't like the end result. Need to try again. On rippling in the wind, I think I may be able to use the technique used here on the flag. At first the British flag looked like a piece of plywood, then I made a proc texture that looked like folds of clothes and used that on the alpha channel of the diffusion for the main texture of the flag and it worked great. I think the flag looks very 3d and rippling now. I am going to see if I can apply it to the sails... Thanks for the feedback.
