Description

The Ponte Vecchio, Florence. The River Arno. I totally enjoyed yesterdays comments and I value them all and thankyou all, a few have made me think carefully and to question the accuracy of my own information lol. It made me smile. The same bridge from yesterdays post. hope you enjoy the view. Slight marks are noticable, unfortunately taken through glass from the Uffizi Gallery which holds some of the worlds greatest pieces of art. ( arguably lol) Thanks for viewing, Alan.

i think bridges are excellent structures on their own, but i think when they serve two purpose`s like this one it makes them even more interesting .excellent shot alan mick

To see the backs of the shops sticking out over the river like that Alan would make me a bit wary of entering the front. From this pov they look like little boxes stuck on. It is a very interesting pov all the same, bottom right hand corner, is that a gondola type boat? or a canoe? Whatever it is the water does not look very inviting. Excellent capture Alan especially through the glass. Bravo!!!!!

A beautifully view. I was going to ask you where you stood when you took this picture, but you explained it. About yesterdays comments, I often want to put something to a pictures description, and then I think about it, 'what if I am wrong, am I sure of this?'. You sure stirred up a hornets nest yesterday. But you create healthy debate. Wonderful shut, this!!!!

I am astounded! Look at those buildings on that bridge! That's just mind-boggling. Not a bit of land under it but I bet the worth of this real estate is astronomical. (can you tell I work in the political real estate arena??? LOL)

"An Old Bridge" - You love understatements, isnĀ“t it? "An Old Bridge".....ts,ts.. Very nice snapshot. It shows the essence of this place and this city, as your other pic of this bridge. I love your Florence series.

Great pic! I visited the Uffizi with 3 friends: on arrival 2 of them went to look for the loo and I never saw them again for 4 hours, and the other swept off on a lightning tour so he could say he'd 'done' the gallery. I had an enjoyable visit, but I always think these things are even better shared!

Another awesome shot! It does appear like the stores were just stuck on -- but I'm sure they are secure or they wouldn't still be there! I have also enjoyed your Florence series! Great work on providing wonderful shots and the narrative to give those of us who've never been an insight into the history! Thanks! :^)
