Description

For those of you not aware...Dennis Reed asked permission from me to use one of my images for a background for one of his...I was in awe that an artist such as Dennis would like to use one of my images and I granted him permission to use it...It turned out beautifully and he called it "Winter Comes." I was very touched...but what was to follow flooded me with emotion. Dennis sent me an email and as I read his words I cried openly...I'd like to share a part of that email with all of you....I hope you don't mind Dennis...here it is in part..... To the people who favored "Winter Comes" Dennis sent this message... Thanks my friend for adding "Winter Comes" to your Favorites. The real credit goes to Marlene for her inspiring Background. I have followed Marlene's progress here at Renderosity for almost a year now, She started out using images from other folks (with permission) to create her amazing art. I still break out in a big smile when I see her use of my Spring Faeries! :) I then watched her move into working with Bryce, a strugle for sure. I was amazed at how brave she was to step away from art she was very skilled at to a beginner in Bryce. Thanks to our good friend David aka davidoblad she learned quickly. Finally the circle is complete, It is now other artists that are using her wonderful artwork! I also consider Marlene a FRIEND, not just in our Art community, but outside that circle as well. We have communicated many times regarding our personnal trials and tribulations, and although we have never met, I feel the closeness that only friends share. That is, the comfort to reach out when needed. That quality I also share with you. Sooooooooooooooooo, and great BIG HUG, and Thanks my FRIEND! God Bless, Dennis To me he sent this.... Keep up the good work Marlene! Reach out to improve your Art bit by bit! Don't be to critical of your present ability, you only need to see where you started, and compare it to where your at, and know you are heading for even better abilities. One Day Your Bryce Work will rival your beautiful tube work of the past. I for one am proud to see your development, and what you've achieved to date! :) Enjoy yourself, Spread the Joy & Love, and it will reflect in your work! Love, God Bless, Dennis Dennis...Autumn is my favorite season of the year...to me Autumn reflects the beauty of Mother Nature...the colors, the smells, the brisk morning air, the crackling under our feet as we walk upon a leafy path, sitting around a fire with family and friends sipping hot cocoa and reminiscing about days gone by....all these things and more that sometimes we take for granted...but things here to remind us how beautiful life is and how important each person in our life is...no matter what role they may play. I want to thank you with all my heart and soul for the beautiful and inspiring words you said about me. You have truly touched my heart, my very soul...your kind words helped me to see that my work doesn't go unappreciated...that the time and the effort I put into it does help to brighten someone else's day and I would hug you if I could reach you...You made my day my friend...God bless you always... Marly, I too must add my voice on how fine your art is, how you have always bravely worked to make it even better, who you always give credit and promote others art ablities, and how nice it is to get to view your gallery posts, read your very human and full of heart, spirit, hope, and warmth writings and comments. Really great artists are so much more than a camera or a brush run by a hand hooked to a brain. It is the heart and feeling the artist brings to their work that really moves the viewers, and thus makes the world a better place. And you desire so much credit for somehow always knowing this and it shows in all your art efforts!!!

A MOST lovely image! Having known Dennis for some time, I can honestly say he is one of the best, if not the best, persons I have known. His marvelous artworks are only exceeded by his HUGE HEART for OTHERS. Anyone that can put up with old, grumpy TallPockets HAS to be a GOOD soul. WINK. Your artworks are SO good. Keep on keepin' on. A wonderful Bryce scene Marlene! Even before I read the write-up, it made me smile, and confirmed my earlier appraisal, that indeed with every post you make progress. This has superb symmetry, balance of color, and shows your love of the Season! Bravo! That is touching. I like this picture too... but, because there is something different about this one. What is different is in your others there is a 3D "pop" to it. I don't know if you use some type of matt finish in photoshop or what, but it's got a "flat" look to it, that I really like. The orange trees would make a cool boarder to a snow filled picture (hint,hint).

Most excellent image Marlene. I see what mikeerson means. The 3D 'pop' comes from the shadows and obvious lighting. This one has a more overcast look with light coming from all angles. Very tricky feat with the usual light sources. This does have that soft Masters Portrait feel to it! Really outstanding. You should make a Print of this one and Frame it for placing on a wall. Your improvements get more amazing every post! Bravo and Hugs from Dave :^)
