Description

Hi all, Firstly many many thanks for all the great comments and observations on my previous submission, I truly appreciate them. This is another fan art render based on the new Indiana Jones 4 movie, but this one has special meaning for me. Some of you may remember me saying a few months back that I was working on a project and was extremely busy. Well I was contacted by the CEO of Steven Spielberg's studio to produce an animation using Vue for the backdrop for the opening titles for an undisclosed project. I later learned the project was Indian Jones 4, I couldn't let the cat out of the bag as I had signed an NDA, but since the filming is complete and several trailers and descriptions of the film are on general viewing I feel I can tell you of my involvement but not the content (yet). I really struggled with this and racked my brains trying to figure out how to involve some of you, especially with my weak spots of the eco system and plant making, as they wanted me to match a scene exactly as the concept art. They said the end product wasn't close enough to the concept art they had sent, but they could use the lighting and the scene as a test bed to show to the big boys, (Spielberg and Lucas). As you can imagine I was extremely excited, even if they can't use the scene, just to know they viewed my art is payment enough. Awesome freebies by Tablesaw, logs, stump and rocks and The Old Mayan Pyramide by Joe Kurz (aka Corintho) found here @ RMP. M3 and his casual clothes and textures are from DAZ. Have a great weekend and many thanx for viewing. Chris

Great news, who knows perhaps you will be doing animation for film very soon?! This render looks incredible, the sky and godrays are wonderful- as is the lush terrain and Mayan/Aztec pyramid. Great perspective and camera point of view!

Very nice work on this, the dead tree-trunk almost looks like a hand which really adds to the mystery and tension. Congrats on working for such lofty figures in cinema, are truly in order!

Vue makes a great cinematic tool. I would use nothing less. Good to have such a brush with greatness, more will follow. Eco system painting can work if you have multiple angles of the scene so you can build a stage set closer to what the film shows, thus to embelish upon it. Your scene looks cinematic.

Indy's pose looks very good as he discovers what is behind the mountain peek and those light beams from the side... Oh yeah, I can feel with him, just like "we finally found the pyramid!" and hear an epic soundtrack in the background. This is a really great picture! ... and congratulations for your project, too! :-)

Certainly looks like a screen capture. Realistic in a way to portray what we all know to be the subject. Executed as only you do!

Congratulations Chris on your recent project, absolutely fantastic news, to be approached by the big guns like that. Methinks you may be taking a few giant steps up that big ladder, and well deserved too, I always thought your work was extra special, and this image is no exception, it is awesome! Excellent work mate and best of luck for the future.
