.... one of the best photographs I've seen in quite awhile -- excellent & refined postwork -- this would have 100+ comments if the members on this site had but eyes to see.

Reminds me of younger days (at my age, aren't they all younger days???) when I would slip away and walk the trestles over the bayous. It was hard to hear a train coming in that thick growth of plants and heavy humidity but you could feel the vibrations in your feet. And then you had to figure out how to get off the rails but not fall into the muddy water below.

I love 'strong' and long lines and perspective in photography, and your capture is just what I enjoy looking at, to dream of travel and infinity! Excellent, Tom !

I love the tiny sparks of sunlight off the tracks. Promising a bright future somewhere along the line?

Excellent shot, Tom. I love the mood; there's nothing lonelier than railroad tracks.

This is a gorgeous image! It is so evocative! The mood is quite intriguing and the image itself has a dream-like quality, and a kind of loneliness that is utterly human.

The tracks lead the eye away into the distance giving the photo a great depth. The curve in the rails causing them to disappear lends an air of mystery to the picture making you wonder what's around the bend:-) The b&w is a good choice giving the photo a more dramatic feel to it than would colour.

wonderful perspective Tom. I really like how the eye is led in, and the subdued light.

I like the way you have all but eliminated any color from this photo. It has more of an impact on objects such as these.
