Hello to all. I want to let you know that I'm finding it a bit difficult to keep up with the galleries, and sort my own stuff for posting as well as working these (lengthened) hours! I will try to play catch-up on my days off, like today, then if you don't see me for a few days, you'll know where I am......zzzzzzzzzz I am fond of amaryllis, and this beauty, called Apple Blossom, is a fav. I think the full sized view of this one is half-decent, so please enjoy and thanks to all of you, as your visits and encouragement are great. About Amaryllis; It's the perfect plant for bringing a welcome burst of bloom into your house during the winter. The flowers are large and trumpet-shaped and come in lovely shades ranging from white and apple-blossom pink to scarlet; some even have striped petals. Amaryllis is a monotypic (only one species) genus of plant also known as the Belladonna Lily or naked ladies. The single species, Amaryllis belladonna, is a native of South Africa, particularly the rocky southwest region near the Cape.

Terrific closeup, with a display of fine clarity, colors, contrasts and textures, of one of my favorite flowers. Neato stamens to boot. BTW, thanks for reminding me that I have a ton of amaryllis photos yet to post on Renderosity sitting in my hard drive .

Wonderful close up And I am familar with this Amaryllis I either try to get a Poinsettia or Amaryllis for Christmas every year... Last year..the Poinsetta's were so small I just said forget it and when I went to get an Amaryllis they were all gone..I have always gotten the red...considered the Apple Blossom a time or two but now seeing this I might try and get one of these this year and maybe just maybe a Poinsetta too:) I too find it hard to keep up...some days I might comment...some days I don't..as it is very hard for me to sit for long periods at a time with this spine cancer of the bone I have...so if somedays I forget..please forgive me I will catch up...
