Sunbeam, the Heinkel 70 was designed as a passenger plane/fast mail carrier. As such, offseting the cockipt pit allowed for more room for the passengers/cargo.

I seem to recall reading that Rolls Royce used one as an engine test bed and it was closely examined by Supermarine engineers, there is certainly a sign that the elipitical wing was favoured for fighters later. I can also see the genesis of the He111 bomber in this design. Nice work

They used a few of these in the Spanish Civil War for recon duty. Excellent render!

Buffalo1 is right. It did find service in the Spanish Civil War both as a light bomber and for recon. They were later given to the Franco's people for use by Spanish aircrews. The design seems to be crying out for a second engine, so I suppose the He 111 was the natural development.
