Hello all!!
While out on a walk we found that this Chihuahua puppy was for sale only for 1 dollar . Why a dollar I asked? The person told me if they gave it away maybe it wouldn't be loved - hmmm, a superstitious thing I suppose...
The tiny puppy was shivering and looked so scared and my heart went out to her. She sure had a real way of getting ones attention. I thought hard about taking her home, but as we already have a zoo at the house (and knowing Mike would come unglued) I had to say no and hear my girls expected whine for a long while after lol...( I knew if I took her and Mike said no that the kids would even be more heartbroken later ).
She was really shaking and all over the place so hyper that I found it very hard to get a decent shot of her -let alone get her to look at me- so was suprised when this one shot turned out.
Georgia ( Georgy on here) got one of my most treasured -hanging on the wall- shots with my girls huggging this Chihuahua. I always look at that pic and wondered what became of her. I am told these dogs are very smart at manipulating for attention and know just how to get you where they want you...lol- hehe, I think I am happy with my cocker spaniel who is very easy going like I am!!
This image here for me today (another that I have had on the back burner) was more of an exercise of painting the background with the colors of the dog to give it a more portrait look. So hand painted the entire background using clone smudge and soften tools with the mouse today in paint shop...
Leaving for Vegas for a while to visit family this week so wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving (for those of you that celebrate it) ...! Real Thankkful for this wonderful site and all of you on here!!

a very poignant shot. my normal reaction to breeds like this is "bluaargh", and i really think it is wrong to breed dogs to look like this, but i have to confess to being touched by this pic.

Amazing capture of this little tike! I have five too many chihuahua's as it is, but if I came across this little guy, I'd be on my sixth! The markings are fantastic and the colouring so soft.... a truly remarkable photograph that you have taken! Excellent lighting... brings out the sweetness and loveability of this little guy..........

I think the dollar is now just half a pound - what's the pup weigh in? I have to tell you a joke... A blind guy walks into a bar with a seeing-eye dog. The bartender says, "We don't allow dogs in here!". The blind guy says, "But I'm blind, and it's my seeing-eye dog". The bartender is instantly sorry and pours the man a free beer. The blind guy runs into another blind friend at the corner and relates the story. The blind friend goes into the bar and announces, "Im blind and this is my seeing-eye dog. Can I have a free beer?". The bartender says "I don't think so - that doesn't look like a seeing-eye dog to me". The friend says "Really?". The bartender says "Since when do they give out Chihuahuas as seeing-eye dogs"? The friend says "They gave me a Chihuahua?".

First let me say it is a real pleasure to see one of your postings. I miss the days when you had more time and we got to see more pics. Y Next let me say, you have an amazing talent for photography but portraits are your specialty I think, lol. BTW - your background is very effect and nicely done. I really like paint shop pro. In closing let me say this is an absolutely adorable presentation. I am not really a chihuahua fan. The buggy eyes and nervous shake put me off but you have captured all the charm and beauty of all the cutest of them and presented it in a very becoming manner. This one is cute and you have also captured a piece of it's soul. Maybe that is what you excel at - capturing a bit of the soul of your subjects. It makes for much more than just a very good picture. Such a cute puppy. I think I would have had to take him home even though my 3 girls (cats) would have objected very strongly. Great capture and work on background.

oh lord i would have bought that puppy ..the last time i looked at dogs for sale they were a 1000 dollars, all fluffy and Labrador i think..what a lovely photo.. wow, that is cheap for a dollar.. a dog like that would cost a fortune in here..
