This would look better if it didn't look like the cables are coming out of the side of his head. This is a classic mistake photographers make: position people so it looks like something is growing out of their head, usually a tree. You could move the figure or eliminate the bent pipe & cable completely. My preference would be to remove the pipe & cable; it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the room. I still like this picture a lot though.

Love the muted tone of this one and the composition is excellent. And yes, the cables do look like they run into his head ;) maybe a little shadow work in post?
