Description

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and adding "It's You", to your favorite list it never fails to surprise me even now, so thank you. This was taken at Witterings Beach, i didn't know until i saw the news yesterday that these Lapwings were becoming a rare breed, but due to places like the Witterings Nature Conservation and farmers in the south who are encouraging them to breed in their fields, Lapwings are being saved from extinction and have come to be successful in breeding.

Great capture, i saw a flock of these the other day they are such beautiful birds, they must have been about 50 of them in the flock.

I've never heard of these before, looked it up Google (Also known as the peewit in imitation of its display calls, its proper name describes its wavering flight. Its black and white appearance and round-winged shape in flight make it distinctive, even without its splendid crest. This familiar farmland bird has suffered significant declines in the last 25 years and is an 'Amber List' species because of the importance of its UK wintering population.) Good capture and presentation

I have always known it has the Peewit, there used to be quite a lot on the moorlands where I live but they did sufer a severe decline and became quite scarce. I do believe however they have started to make a bit of a comeback. I don't get up on the moors any more but my brother does quite a lot. Excellent capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!
