Description
Carrara 6Pro. Practicing making beveled structures with curves, sweeps and extrusions. This is still a work in progress. The procedural texture renders a bit funky around the finer bevels. Still tweaking that. Anyway, thanks for having a look!!!

The procedural textures look great to me, I would have set my money on 'bitmap' if there was any betting going on.The blocks around the bevels could very well be render artefacts. The wardrobe has a great classic (but not too classic) feel to it.

I agree with Hoofdcommissaris, hard to believe they are procedural shaders, great modelling as well, it looks very sturdy. I think it would look better with larger handles though.

Very stylish piece of modelling, makes me want to open the door to see if there's a snow covered forest inside.

Armoires are going out of style. I had only discovered them in 1978. I have learned a few things about extrusion in 6. Never try to extude a curve. always fill it. It will go both ways other wise. Sometimes it extrudes twice in the same direction creating frustration as you try to click on end points and go in a different direction or scale the section. This is 6 only. Add that to what you already know about removing all links across the section to be extruded to keep it from extruding as a series of adjoining but double edges meeting walls. Bevels is sort of new. Have you tried the displacement map yet. It begins with a pen about the size of a mouse ball just like trying to edit a terrain. Ahem, I was going to make tire sipes!! or in this case carve a corner.

Can we get to Narnia through there? ;) Superb modeling!

Still kicking myself for not picking up Carrara for $8. This is awesome, the lighting adds to the realism.
