Description

Standing on the bridge. My new monopod opens up on the bottom to make a tripod, so I actually have pictures with me in them. Not that anybody wants to see me in a picture, I just want proof I was there. ... :) The person on the far left is my father inlaw and is responsible for my love of hiking, and by the way he is 70 years old. In case you thought you could not do this trail because of your age!.... :) He is a tough old bird and has been dragging my butt up and down hills and mountains from West Virginia to the Rockies of Colorado for the past 20 years. That's me in the red, my friends 10 year old son and my friend, to the far right. Thanks for all the comments, and all advice is welcome. Don't go easy on me, I want to get better at taking pictures and have a pretty thick skin.... grin! :) Y'all are great, Todd

I have been told that landscapes and portraits do not go together well, because either the background suffers because of people in the way and or the portrait suffers because the attention is drawn to the landscape.when I am out taking pictures companions always ask for a portrait with a beautiful background, which is fine.to establish that your group was in a particular place, then it is acceptable. your composition is excellent and you must have ran to join the group before the camera fired unless you are using a remote. I personally take pictures to please myself so many of the rules get kicked aside, unless it is for profit

Heheh... you just had to sneak in there, didn't ya? LOL. I think the photograph is really special, and memorable, with a lovely perspective and really beautiful lighting! You are quite brave, my friend..... the height thing is enticing, alluring, daring.... yet ..... I think I'd pass :)

I only have one suggestion. Don't take pictures of people in red shirts! The eye is drawn right to that one red spot, and it's distracting. Other than that, this is great! I'm feeling a little dizzy, though . . . gotta go . . .
