I have problems with sharpness in my photos i was told and thought i put this one in to see what you all think. You all are always so kind to make brilliant comments so would like your opinions on this photo, especially in regards to sharpness. Thank you xxx

I agree there a problem with sharpness, it's a pity because the centring is excellent and the colors of this bird are really nice ...

I really like the shot..a different sort of goldfinch than we have here. The detail of the feathers is slightly lacking, perhaps because of highlights on the bright spots. Take a look at the sharpest focus points and see if that is where you wanted it. Depth of field might be part of it..I shoot birds around here mostly in very trying light and dof is problamatic in those shots, requiring a wide aperture. If you have enought light to pull it off, try a smaller(larger number) aperture and manual focus. Agreed, manual is tough with critters that move around. The rest of the pic looks just fine and I do like it a lot.
