Description

I've done a little bit of modeling in Bryce and Vue but find they are both rather limited...what the mind wants to do...the software is incapable of...some shapes just can't be made from booleans. This is the first time I've really spend time with a software package that has the potential to fully create what what the mind can perceive...but it has a price...one hell of a steep learning curve!! This is a work in progress,my first real attempt at modeling really, and has taken around 20 hours so far.Few more to go too... Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment!

Wow! For a first job in Cinema 4D this is a masterwork one, that deserves all the honors! Everything is a success, not only modeling but also texture application and very beautiful lighting. However, I hope that you will forgive me a remark on the concept, behind C4D. The overall concept of this tank is a very realistic one and scifi as you said. However the texture style is rather like a tin-plate toy of the forties and fifties, which for me does not matches entirely the tridimensional style. For such a tank concept a more realistic body texture would be preferable. But after all this is a pure matter of taste… Without hesitation: 5+++!

Sorry...forgot to mention that the texture on the hull has only been applied so viewers can see where I'm going...the finished piece will be fully 3d with all the plating done properly. All that for another day though ;-) Thanks for looking!

Looking very good so far! You definitely took a step UP when you chose c4d...There are lots of tutorials around, plus we love helping new folks in the forum...The learning curve isnt that bad...Nice work.
