Description
Just picked up this Stonemason model - ARC and wanted to see how it rendered in Carrara.
In case anyone's interested...
The scene is lit with only visible light sources, meaning that I only placed lights in front of visible light fixtures and other visible light sources. Light sphere effect is used on all lights and the global 3D Aura global effect is also used for the light source glow textures.
Oh, and a thin fog layer was added over the floor.

The lighing is super nice ultra realistic. I almost bought this sometime ago but the lack of lighting stopped me, I thought it would be difficult to light. If you have any pointers let me know thanks and great job.

Superb lighting. Lighting without fills can be a challenge. You really nailed it by just using the fixture locations. What would be really interesting is to take this model and put "glow" on the light fixtures and remove the lights. Then use GI to render. I say that because it looks like a really nice model, obviously the location of the fixtures are effective since you were able to do it really well with lights. It would look even more incredible using Global Illumination I think. Of course it would take a lot longer though. Great job as it is though!!

Gorgeous lighting. Thanks for sharing the technique. Your image is a lot more attractive than those they used for their advertising. Ask for a commission!
