To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.
After that the critics can write what they please.
I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

This is a superb image, absolutely gorgeous. The whole range of colors makes this piece work perfectly and the textures and half-hidden forms all play gorgeously against the sharply defined eyes. This is a great work of art.

well I always wanted to go to your back-gallery, so I picked an image as close to this date as I could, only a year ago (sounds silly, I know, but what the heck)...You really caught 'lost time' here, with ghost images of post cards & various scripts & the beautiful old-style flourishes around your corners, etc...(Remember the madeleine, that wonderful passage? Well this piece is filled with inner madeleines; in fact a lot of your work is, you weave time & memory seamlessly in your work.) The central eyes & water & leaves & vines, etc. etc. bring us into memory and deep inward places. I assume you know the source of the old mis-translation, right? (Ie, "when to the sessions of sweet silent thought/I summon up remembrance of things past..."): Well one of the touching things in those lines (for me at least) is the many 's's, giving the language a soft pull into memory: To me, your work is like those whispers, summoning remembrance, lost time, inwardness, etc etc quite beautifully. And your splashes of violets & blues & greens are both surprises and real uplifts. Beautiful & inward and a very touching piece...
