Description

This is for a dear friend of mine Mandi Blais aka (Blankfrancine)who has been with me since the very start of my postings here. Mandi has always been kind and supportive to me when I really needed it, as well as being a inspiration through her creative work. Check of it out at www.mandisdreamtime.org Bronco's Bath Day: My nieces were helping me give little Peppie a bath this weekend when I told them about how their Mom & I used to have our hands full trying to bathe a dog we had when we were little named Bronco. He was sort of a mut but very loveable except for when it came time to give him a bath. I told my 3 nieces how I would get in the little pool and tug on his leash while Veronica would push as hard as she could constantly asking me if he was in the water yet. LOL Of course our Mom would look on laughing up a storm. After all helping us would have ruined her fun apparently. Well this is my attempt to try to bring that memory to life for my nieces and pay tribute to a dear friend at the same time. Hope your not tired of my silly childhood stories. Thanks so much and hope for smiles :) Dave

I love this! It reminds me of when we have to give our three baths! They don't have any trouble going in the creek and getting soaking wet, but mention bath, and they're in hiding! And don't you dare stop recording your childhood memories as art! I think we all love this, I do for sure anyway!

Dave, this is really amazing ^^ Reminds me a bit of showering my red tomcat Francis :) I closed the bathroom door and sat him into the shower and put water on him after putting shampoo on him he jumped on my arms and tried to escape over my shoulders.. I was all over wet and it was really hard to get him back into the shower ^^

Very funny story and image, Dave! I love the bit about Veronica asking if he was in the water yet! I've bathed cats before and mine I could handle though they are very unhappy. But we had an unfixed tom when I was growing up. He got into the storm drains one day and came back looking like a porcupine, with stiff spikes of mud. Mom tried to wash him at the sink and he went up one side of her and down the other. She ended up cleaning as much as she could with a towel and he had to take care of the rest. For a while, he would clean... throw up, clean...throw up, etc. Excellent image! Wonderful composition, wet skin, poses, and expressions! I like the line of distressed faces, (including Bronco's) and your mom in the background, literally holding back her laughter. I'll bet you wished you could reason with Bronco. "If you just cooperate, it will all be over soon!" Beautiful late afternoon light and shadows. Great shadows in the water.

I remember dogs like that... Waiting for the splash... Some dogs you get more of a bath than they do.. Others, you need a bath when you are done with them. LOL Did you see the dragons today? Did ya?? :)

Wonderful render and composition, Dave. A fine dedication for Mandi. She is a fantastic and very creative artist. But your story nearly killed me... hahaha. Haven't had such a good laugh for ages. #;oD You and Vernie.. prolly weighing 50 pounds each.. Trying to move a dog weighing somn like 120 pounds... lol. Nearly a impossible task.. especially when it's about giving him a bath. If i wasn't poor... i'd give a 100 dollars to see that on video #:o)

Beautiful image and story that often has a surprise ending: all wet outside of the dog as a child I lived similar scenes, I grew up with a Siberian wolf dog female (almost 70 kg). Let them swim was undertaking considerable difficulty. Your stories are not silly, but real life moments that many have experienced.
