Description

Anyone want to cruise the Cape Fear River on the battleship USS North Carolina? Heck, for $4 a head all my friends can come to Wilmington, NC and ride ... my treat! I hear that for another few bucks they'll let us uncork those 16-inch guns and lob a couple of shots over the Riverfront Hilton to scare the tourists. :o) Nope, it's not a manip ... but POV is everything for this photo! The actual river taxi is out of view to the right. As I approached this WWII battleship -- which is permanantly docked on the river across from downtown Wilmington and is open for tourists to board and explore -- a picture appeared to my eyes from this angle that rather amused me and I couldn't resist sharing it with you...

I have explored a couple of battleships and it is amazing the quarters that they had to endure.very cramped and even worse in a sub. very humorous and an excellent capture

)
