You touch my heart with this as well. My hubby's grandmother had that phobia where a person can't walk outside and she also had a problem with oyxgen flow to the brain. I planted a rose bush outside her back door, about 2 steps from the doorway. When it bloomed she would open the door, take one giant step to the bush, cut one rose and then take a giant step back...all in about 2 seconds. It was the only time she ever left her house. She loved the smell and the beauty of that rose bush and after she died I dug it up and I've been dragging it around with me everywhere I've lived for the past 25 years. I love your thoughts and your rose.

What a great dedication Mick to your Mother, i lost my favourite aunty about 13 years ago and not a day goes by without me thinking about her, i loved her so much she was like a Mother to me and everytime i think of her i always have a lump in my throat.

An absolutely fantastic dedication to the most important person in your life. The pain never goes away Mick but it does lessen in time, you will never forget her for as long as you live, sometimes you will see her face in the crowds, especially in the local market. It's been 26 years since I lost my mother and I still miss her, love her and see her face. I tell everybody the same thing Mick, concentrate on the good times. A wonderful rose for a wonderful lady, she would be proud of you.

wonderful remembrance of your mum. Mine did spend time in a extended care and she more or less starved herself to death.she always begged to go to her home, but it was gone as it was taken by the state to pay for her care.good you were able to care for yours
