AloooooooooHa!
Been a bit since I've uploaded or even had time to get around to posting...tis the season!! Been taking care of business and doing some freelance shooting on the side. Money is poor but the experience is invaluable.
I flew to the island of Kauai over the the Thanksgiving holiday to spend some time with my family..I had a great time partying with everyone and managed to get some shooting time in. Kauai is such a beautiful island to explore and enjoy...truly Gods country. I managed to take in half the island while I was there, and must go back and shoot the rest of it in the future.
Taro is grown in this valley which when the root is pounded makes some of the best "Poi" in the islands. Poi would be the equivalent of rice or potatoes in a meal. It's an acquired taste, because it is quite bland...but mixed with fish, pork, and sea foods makes an excellent meal.
Hanalei Valley Lookout offers one of the most famous views on Kauai. The valley is one mile wide and six miles long. Most of the taro grown in Hawaii is grown here. On the valley floor is a one-way truss bridge built in 1912. The bridge was damaged by a tsunami in 1957, and subsequently reinforced. Legend has it that the rainbow came to Hawaiian Islands from the bluffs just beyond the valley when a piece of brightly colored kapa cloth was thrown into a pool below Namolokama Falls, and its colors arched up in the mist.

This must be one of the lushest, most beautiful places on earth - that's one of the many wonders of Hawaii, that there is such a vast difference in each island!! Beautiful!!
