Description

Third "site" shot, with Waynu Picchu in the background. The previous one was taken from the quarry just behind the little hill on the left, past the main gate/door you saw in the up close shot of it framing Waynu Picchu. And the first one - you have to go back to my first post from when i was actually in Peru) was actually taken from almost the same height but further round to the right - plus it was a different day. Yes i was lucky enough to go twice :) Not much to say about this one, except i hate tourists - they are difficult to clone out when they are stood in clumps. I should probably have left one in walking along the wall facing us just to get some sense of proportion, but just so you can imagine, a person reaches to about a third of the height of the main door... Nuff said really ;) Enjoy! Rich

such a veiw into ancient culture... makes me wish I could see this filled with citizens and the city in full action. Gorgeous.

Oh, on that note MrsLubner - one has to remember that the stones are weathered; when it was built the granite was a brilliant white, just like the revealed granite on the mountain behind on the left hand side ;) Awesome to think about it like that isnt it?!

Excellent view and capture once again! About the tourists: I fully agree on your statement but on the other hand: you're one of them also at that very moment, pretty sure someone else was thinking something like 'get the #@!? out of my viewer' about you....;-0... Know what I mean?

That IS big. I never tire of viewing this magic place, your photos do it justice. I thought tourists were no longer allowed all throughout the ruins?

That must be the view we see more often on TV and in magazines. What an awesome place! And a wonderful shot, such rich color and the clouds posed just right for your composition!
