Description
The title? It was going to be called 'Bird in a Bauble', but in view of Mistapus' quizzical expression I thought the one I chose suited his expression best - What do you think?
I gave myself a hard task with this one! I took the shot of Mistapus when he was only a small kitten, getting his attention by waving a wilting flower infront of his face. He was outside in his large pen leading off from my kitchen, so there was galvanised mesh and shrubs behind him. I have to admit while erasing the background from around those whiskers I began to wonder whether I was sane?? Then I thought after finishing it, why not add a bauble instead of having the wilted flower in view, just to give myself some more work! Ahhh well I hope you enjoy the finished result.

Houston, we have a problem... I really have to chuckle looking at your clever concepts, Miss Jane. I think it's the funny expressions on the faces of your little cats and dogs. The lighting and texture on Mistapus is great. BTW, erasing backgrounds around whiskers and hair is a real exercise in dedication and determination.

The result is wonderful again. The problem: On Saturday the x-mas-stress starts. Where the glitter balls are bare again -- how many the cat has broken last year?

ROFL! This is so cute! You really did a wonderful job on this, and I totally understand what you went through, too, ditching the original background! I do that kind of thing all the time, because I do a lot of children's portraits for families at our church. I take the photos, then ditch the background and put in a really pretty one instead; but the work involved in doing all that can be really quite a lot, and very, very tedious! So I fully appreciate what you did, and how you did it! Lovely piece, and so much fun! (and don't feel badly about questioning your sanity--I do that too, of myself, when I'm doing that kind of stuff!) :P
