Description

He's served his master's for years, unflinching following all their orders. Then the day came when he took a hit. Just so happened to be on the day everything ended. Little does he realize, no one is left to come to repair him. So, he sits and waits for his repair orders, never realizing they will never come. This holiday season, let's not forget those who are fighting for a war that has lost it's cause and for those who have lost more than we can imagine fighting it. Dystopian Drone Trooper and The Ministry at Daz3d. Web brushes by Designfera. Thanks for looking.

As always fantastic work and a great story to boot!!! Of course , we can't forget theses men and boys who are keeping us safe fighting for something that is no longer as you say a cause, God bless each and every one of them... hopefully they will all return soon and enjoy their families and get the respect from us they deserve...

Reminds me of a a sci-fi story I read in Evil Earths (an anthology), aside from the war part. The main character met these robots from further out in the solar system who had long outlived their purpose and just did things according to design. Meeting the character was something different from the everyday for them and they pretty much worked themselves to death to make him comfortable. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the story or who wrote it. I might end up having to buy the book again; I've wanted to revisit some of the stories for some time. Okay, not the same thing as what you're going for here, but it's what first came to mind when I saw this and read your comments.

We are living in a THROW-AWAY society, what a waste of good men and women....let's forget all that war-mongering and bring back understanding of real values, start by voting for Dr. Ron Paul's rEVOLution...may the soldiers all get to be home real soon and someone to fix all the broken bots ! ~Cheers~ :o) p.s. great mood you have created in this sad sci-fi scene !

wonderful image and sentiment Nyt...no matter the thoughts, motives and actions of government, you are right that we must not forget the soldiers who are paying the ultimate price doing what they believe to be right and honorable, to protect and maintain our rights and freedoms...God bless and protect every one of them, we owe them and all veterans more than we can ever imagine or hope to repay

Brilliant Image and great and sad write up. both image and words are very well crafted. Personally I feel for the trooper, all I can say I'm glad I made it with nigh a scratch. I could never forget those still out there in the cold and rain and burning sun. I can only hope they may see a slight respite for the holidays
