Description

Here is the answer to the question: "Who are the artists?" (see my previous image). During a travel in Thailand with my husband Edouard Elcet, who is also a Renderosity artist, we visited an elephant farm. These animals were capable of very learned tricks (as in some circus). But the most stunning was this painting session: the tamer choiced the color and put the brushes in the elephant’s trunk. Afterwards, the elephant painted alone. I leave you appreciate… The picture presented last week is the gallery made by five elephants, which painted in the same time. The action lasted some ten minutes. I ignore the taming conditions, perhaps Mousson knows something about them. Techdata: top image, Nikkor 3.5-4.5/18/70 Pro ED zoom, 1/100s at f/10, F60mm, ISO 200. Bottom photos : Nikkor 4-5,6/70-300 ED lens at F155 and 250mm, similar conditions. Nikon D50 digital SLR. No postwork except for a slight level adjustment of the bottom pictures and assemblage of the three photos.

If I had not seen your photos I would not have believed that elephants could paint something so pretty. Thank you for the pictures and the information about the elephants painting them.

Great shots - this was on the tv recently, with an elephant called Hong as the subject. She was producing some fine abstracts by herself, without the mahout guiding her. Those flowers were produced with a little help from the mahout!
