Description

Shot taken in my next doors garden. The birds love these berries, I got a shot before they ate them all. Bitterly cold tonight in Bay, so glad my house is warm. Have a wonderful eventime. Hugs. Diane.

WOW...these are gorgeous. What kind are they, I've seen them growing all over Dortmund, and have no idea what they are. No one there seems interested in berries so I didn't get an answer. Anyway, this is a great image, I love the vivid colors and the in-close intimacy of the scene, which is far better and richer when viewed full size. This is fantastic work, especially in the vivid sense of color! Great work, Diane.

I am not sure what they are either but by appearances we have the same ones here the old timers tell me the birds will get drunk off of them Excellent shot!!!!!

A lovely warm colour. Nice shot Diane, there are many different trees with berries just now and yes the birds love to feed off them. most berries are poisonous to us from the common trees around, I leave things alone that I don't know much about like wild mushrooms, but more for the birds.

Dear Diane, you keep feeding us these wonderful energy-bustling colours! Much needed in wintertime. Weather is bad here in Sweden too, but I have, as you put it, just recharged my batteries for a while now. :) Take care!

I can't tell if this is pyracatha or not, but I know I had it growing in my yard some years ago and when the berries first appeared, the wildlife came to eat and I picked a pot full to make jelly, but as the berries got older, they made "wine on the vine" (LOL) and the wildlife (birds included) had an awful time -- staggering around the yard, banging into walls, lawn furniture and fences. :-)
