Description

Although I realize that portraiture is not very popular on this site (my last upload received by far the lowest number of views & comments in a long time...)I think personally that it is more fun (and also more difficult...) to shot people rather than landscapes or architecture... "The most difficult thing for me is a portrait. You have to try and put your camera between the skin of a person and his shirt." Henri Cartier-Bresson (French Photographer, 1908-2004) I'd like to dedicate this picture to Eileen (elmurray), THE RR Master in portraits, full of character... Eileen has not uploaded a picture in one month now... I really do hope everything is OK for her... An excellent skill guide for portrait photography from University of Minnesota :HERE ! Ce portrait est magnifique. Cadrage, luminosité, contraste sont ok. Mais ... pour un portrait il faut une petite profondeur de champ (en général). Donc, le flou sur le mur est pas mal mais la tapisserie à droite (ou quoique ce soit d'autre) choque un peu. Pour un portrait, tout dans la photo doit ramener au portrait, rien ne doit distraire le regard. Je t'invite à regarder quelques portrait de Zacko également.

I find the character portraits to be most popular with me! I love the different looks of people in different lands and cultures. I see this gentleman is not like the others you have done here. His headwear is beautifully done with great care and skill. His clothing matches the stitching and is also well cared for. The portrait is magnificently done. And the dedi is perfect.

I love portraits. It is extra difficult but I have realy fun and when I capture essence and character of that person I am realy happy. This image is SUPERB. I like his surprise in his eyes :-)
