Hi All,
I have dabbled in computer graphics for many years, renewing my interest when I discovered the community on Renderosity, many years ago now. Thanks for all the friends, support, comments and just views! I hope that you like what you see, and don't mind my endless experimenting and daft sense of humour!I have become something of a champion for Carrara and believe it to be one of the most comprehensive and best value 3D packages available. I became known for my extensive use of Carrara's dynamic hair and 2010 has seen the release of a number of commercial Carrara hair products. I have also recorded a whole series of video tutorials for Infinite Skills Inc available over at Daz and also here:http://www.infiniteskills.com/training/learning-carrara-7.htmlOne of my other passions is music and I used to be keyboard player with progressive rock band Manning (2008-2009). I was delighted to make my recording debut on "Number Ten" released early 2009 - I also had a big hand in designing the CD cover and booklet! I am now writing and recording some demos of my own music. Thanks for looking - have a great day! Phil

Sorry to say this but Lancasters did or do not have radial engines they used inline V12 Merlin engines. Other wise a good picture.

I was going to apologise for the inaccuracy of the model, but I have found out the following from a quick internet search - "Because of the possibility of some interruption in Merlin production, the Lancaster II was built with 1,229.5 Kw (1,650 hp) Bristol Hercules VI radial engines. These fears did not materialize, with the result that only 300 Lancaster IIs were built." So this is clearly a Lancaster II! And here is a link to prove it: http://www.rafweb.org/SqnMark408-429.htm Not trying to score points, just some interesting info! Cheers, Phil

Fantastic scene and work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nicely done Phil! 27 hours!!! Do you have a spare computer to work on during renders? Worth the wait though, you're not likely to get the opportunity to photograph a Lanc from that viewpoint. :o)

Fine work!!!

Wow! Now I know how the Lancasters were powered ... and thanks for the warning about render times with spectral clouds. Excellent image.

For what it's worth, 426 Squadron had Lanc II's with radials. At least one of them also had an under-fuselage gun position. If they had kept this feature it might have saved hundreds of aircraft from being shot down by the upwards firing 'Nachtmusik' night fighters. Someone might possibly have spotted them early on and put a stop to the favourite practice of creeping up unseen below before firing into the wing tanks. The RAF losses from this were phenomenal until someone spotted unusual angles of fire on damaged aircraft which managed to get home.

Beautifully done scene Phil!!!

I liked the Lancaster a lot, very nice work, but would like to add that the Lancaster served in Europeand the P-40 Kittyhawk you've used was operated exclusively in the Pacific, by the A.V.G.

I do not have any expert knowledge in allied warfare, I only think this an awesome work with clouds, light, and aircrafts! Btw, I must not like Lancasters, must I? My Great Grandma died in Dresden.
