Description
One morning when I was out photographing the hibiscus a Hummingbird flew in. I was lucky enough to capture a few shots. I missed the best one though *sigh*. That bird flew right up to me, face to face, and I couldn't focus and click fast enough... darn. This is a cute little shot where you can see the colors on the back of the bird, and the blur of his wings. I've taken more than 50 pictures of Hummingbirds and I will have 3 to share.

We are getting some much needed rain here today! So maybe I'll get to play with some photos today. Although I still have to be "Mom Chauffeur" and my husband has returned from his business trip... must share computer... lol.

Excellent picture. Auto focus can be a pain, but this is a very nice action shot. You can see just the impression of the wings in motion, really cool! There is a way to manual focus , in that everything in a certain range is in focus. Read the tutorials by "danob". He has excellent birds of prey, in flight. I try to take bird in flight pictures all the time, they all stink!... :) Todd

Lush greens displayed in this momentous capture of the ever flitting hummingbird, performing its daily chores of collecting nectar. Incidentally, why do hummingbirds hum? Because they can't carry a tune. And we hardly got any rain down here from this highly touted strong storm.
