Trees
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are written by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I love that poem but it's always bugged me that the rhythm count is spoiled in the second line.. it needs another "as" after the word poem. I guess she felt two 'as's' in one line was one 'as' too many..lol. Anyway, super image Marlene. I don't drink but could stand a little R&R here if they served soft drinks. Big thumbs up and hugs from Dave :^)
