Description
Perhaps an artist's hideaway? It is a bit Bohemian, and they probably got it on the cheap. I don't know who designed this room but I wouldn't hire them LOL :)
It's really an excuse to try out a number of new textures in a single image. I think it is really two images that need worked on separately but life is busy.
I'm pleased with the way the floor tiles came out - much work to get it right. Many textures based on texture maps from MAPZone (I've found a way to do export bump maps from MapZone if anyone is interested), with a lot of modification and finetuning.

Lighting is excellent, and textures are awesome. Love the refelctions too . I would've added a tiny bit of luminosity to the walls, they look a bit too dark.

Thanks ... I did think about the walls, but because it's a fibrous kind of material, I wasn't sure how to do it. Didn't seem right to add reflection, but I might increase the diffuse a bit. Another version of the image has tiled walls which had much better reflectivity.

the lighting looks nice and all but it doesnt match the room. the direction of the light and the reflections on the floor both look to be coming form the wall facing the camera.

The lighting setup is designed to suggest a glass ceiling, suggested by the rafters reflected on the floor and also by the daylight cast on the image. The rafters were added for exactly this reason - to indicate where the light is coming from.

All the textures are all around good,expecially that floor,but erhaps spmething a bit more sci-fi would fit better(; Maybe a robot on the couch reading a skin mag smoking a big stogie:D

Vue & Carrara! All you need now is Kerkythea to get the grubbiness off those sofa's. Unbiased renderers are where it's at!

The grubbiness is a deliberate part of the Bohemian look of the scene :) It isn't down to blotchy GIGR in this case.
