Description

Some members here know me as a photographer. But as I've already said a few times, I'm basically a painter. Finally after a few years of hesitation, I've just jumped into digital media. ( no more bad odours or painting spots on my hands and clothes, and the magical function undo :o) ) Of course there are some new problems, building a "digital" workshop costs a lot and things go really faster and faster ( i.e : program updates, and so on ). So, I've decided to make some experiments and of course I want to share them with you. I hope some members will be interested 'cause I would like to make a few tutorials and share my experiments. Of course, painting takes much more time than photography. 300-400 pictures in 3 hours for photography and one month for a digital painting ( and I'm quite frustrated 'cause my computer can't follow my Wacom tablet very well ) So just tell me if you are interested in the project. Here, I'm posting a quick picture to show you a part of the picture used as reference and a part of the final results. Right now, I can't upload the entire picture. It's to big to handle and I'm not quite happy with the "resizing" results, I have to experiment more. I've just added a "texture" effect in Photoshop. (and yes it sucks ). I'm using Corel Painter combined with Photoshop with an Wacom Intuos 3 ( A4 size ). The tutorial will start from the starting sketches ( using paths, selecting the most important elements in the picture, the color schemes and so one) and perhaps I will go up to printing job ( using an Epson R2400 in my case ) So are you interested in the project ? Just tell me. Comments are welcome! Peace/

I am totally on board, I want to see it go from photo to digital painting. That would be very interesting. Todd

Hell YES I'm interested. I am always wanting to learn something new. Especially if it will help me in A:M (Animation:Master). Love that eye contact with your model.

I like it. I'm a heavy Photoshop user and would like to see what you're planning to do.

Although I prefer your photos, you do have great skill in the digital painting, I like the results. I would like to see more, now if only I could learn to do that.... ^_^

Great painted version. I think it has a very rich quality that makes it even more interesting than the photo. I too would like to see the work process from start to finish.

Excellent! I'd like to learn to convert to sketch look and painting look so I can use it on my wife's images. Bravo!

Looks incredible. Not sure I'd follow the tutorial well as I'm not too good with that sort of thing, but I think it'd be interesting to see. :)

Sounds like a great tutorial in the making. I also use Photoshop and Painter and a WACOM tablet - all of them great tools. We all never stop learning, I'm all for it!!
