Description

TMFV Page 20. Thanks for all your wonderful comments! Angst between teens and their parents. As old as time itself. The story continues.... Technical production data: Made the 50's desert ranch house stage set using 3ds Max and Silo. Both inside and out. Made Billy's dad, modelling him in Quidam. Rendered with Vue Infinite 6 and used Photoshop filtered layers blended together for the drawn effect. Assembled frames and text in Comic Book Creator. Enjoy the season!

The new frame design looks good. The balloons are good placed - good dialogues also. Good viewing angles and the modelling work is fantastic!

You put an amazing amount of work into this my friend and it looks great because of it. Your right that the tension between parents and children is always constant at certain ages and you brought that out perfectly.

Always well constructed, down to the smallest detail. Expressions and body language match the descriptive bubbles to a tee! I admire you for producing such a unique series from scratch, making all that is not already to hand..Bravo!

Excellent addition to the series, and great work on making the ranch-house. I love the dad here, hope to see more of him in the future. While I love the last frame the best and I think the son's pose is perfect, I think the dad's pose is a little static, and it would help to have him turn his head to look at his son in the last frame.

"What are you rebelling against?" "Whaddaya got?" very cool work, over blasted with light, gives it that SoCal, desert feel.

Excellent style! The top panel is really wonderful. The balloon content is full of humor (unfortunately my approximative english makes that I do not always understand the details) and excellent too. The inside of the house is perfect too. So, what is going wrong? Only one point: NEVER repeat the same composition in two panels, this is an error that, at least in Europe, is considered as lethal for a professional comic project by the publishers. So either you replace the middle one or the bottom panel to put a different viewpoint. I do enjoy also your explanations, although I would be interested that you share with us more technical details, especially the sequence of Filters that you used in Photoshop to create the style. There are several actions kits to achieve it, based on a sequence of Layer duplicating, applying transparency modes and Filters, such as Satrias actions here in the freestuff zone, or, much more easy to apply and fore sale (at a very cheap price), the well-known and excellent AdamWright's Toon Actions. Best would be if you have some time that either you share us your approach in a step-by-step tut in the tutorial section, or you give us a link if someone else wrote a tut and put it online somewhere. I am glad that you enjoyed Quidam to create some characters. I am very pleased with this alternative to Poser too. Are you in touch with the N-Sided team? Sure that they will be very interested to see what you did with their software!

Great work. I like it when you have a "theme" in one page. ...Thanks for the info on my gallery of the woman in the tub, it's helpful.
