i made a version with a white/grey moon; very dull! I think a little color accent in this one will do

Very convincing. The overall "blueness" is very effective in causing an ethereal sorta look.

Cool idea! The pic has some kind of "60s/70s-scifi-b-movie-look"! I like it. I recommend you the Lunar Cell-plug in for photoshop for making moons or planets.
