Description

Ah, the late '70's. Disco, custom vans, gasoline lines, and STAR WARS. And Star Wars take-off. In this 1978 japanese Star Wars take-off named "Message From Space" (Uchu kara no messeji), the peaceful planet of Jillucia has been nearly wiped out by the Gavanas, whose leader takes orders from his mother (played by comic actor Eisei Amamoto in drag) rather than the Emperor. King Kaiba sends out eight Liabe holy seeds, each to be received by a chosen one to defend the Gavanas. Each recipient, ranging from hardened General Garuda to Gavana Prince Hans to young Terrans Meia, Kido, and Aaron all have different reactions to being chosen. The hero spaceship portraited here, was a sort of Millennum Falcon, but with some added features: with its foldable wings it can deploy a couple of space fighters... useful when you are in a star war!! ;) 3D Model by korben62 for Orbiter, Bryce conversion ad texture by me - rendered in Bryce 4 and postproduced with Photoshop. This is another model I built as a kid. here's a link to the real thing. http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/STARSHIP%20LIABE%20PAGE.htm Not a very good model. I think I had more fun destroying. Brings back memories. Great job.

Great image! I had the two small fighters as models as a teenager. I would love to see another rendering or two of the two fighters by themselves.

I am guilty of liking this movie in my youth. I had all of the models and don't know what I did with them..too bad. All I ever wanted was a cool spaceship to impress the ladies. Is that too much to ask?
