Description

This is a shot of Derwent Water - my favourite lake. It offers such a wide variety of photographic opportunities with urban scenes at the North end in Keswick to wild countryside at the Southern end. It even differs on its Eastern and Western shores. :-) The old landing stage on the Eastern shore has long fascinated me and, with the water as calm as this, made for a wonderfully desolate picture. This is a straight shot un-tampered with in PhotoShop except to re-size and add the signature. You really have caught the atmosphere here. You could rotate it a degree or two to the left and it would be perfect.

Whoops! The number of times I've looked at this picture and never noticed the slope. Anyhow, thanks for spotting that - I have corrected it and re-uploaded. :-)
