Description

Hi all, I've pretty much been in "research mode" over the past 6 months and have learned alot. And I've been itching to put some of what I learned to practical use. So I spent some time setting up a scene, and using some of the clip files I've been assembling and testing over the past few months. This image was a blast to put together! There are still some things I need to work on, but its all about having fun in the end anyway... Native Res: 800x600 Quality: 0.8 Atmos samples: 64 Cloud samples: 196 (trying to avoid grain) Render time: 121hr 41mn, spread over 4 cores The temple was modeled in Google Sketchup. All procedural - no image maps.

Actually, the total render time was about 30 hours, multiplied by 4 cores (that rendered simultaneously). So, it would have taken 121 hours on a single 3 GHz core - youch! Thanks for the compliments.

Brilliant work moodflow! The stretched cracks look awesome! Probably used a transform-shader for stretching them? The clouds and mountains combine really good. Superb job :-)

Fantastic scene. Well done. As I said before, the only complaint I have is that I want to see it poster size. :)
