Description

I have always wondered about some old volcano cones seen from the road way from Kau desert to Hawaii National Park area. Our deserts are lava rocks and a little black sand. I thought these volcano cones might be accessible thru the Mauna Iki trail and took a chance. On this trip, I was accompanied by Lady Carrie and fellow worker Myron. Myron has hiked many times with me on the hot lava fields before. No active lava flow here in the Kau desert but my curiosity must be satisfied about these cones. So here we go again. Aloha and thank you for viewing. PS.... If anyone is wondering about Brave Terry, he is ok. Hopefully he will be hiking with us again after the Holiday Season

Amazing to see, looks like a really harsh land, not unlike our desert. It has its own beauty, excellent picture. Todd

You bring these places alive, Errol, and I love seeing it!! I like the fact your walking stick is leaning against that rock, gives it perspective and a very personal touch!

The walking stick does give some scale to the scene and adds a nice personal touch. This has many areas of interest and lots going on. The larger view works for me~ =)

If it weren't for the greenery ...I'd say it was from outer space L an ancient civilization .... the walking stick does give an idea the size of these formations ..... great capture, sharky!
