Description

Mars is in the public awareness as NASA made the commitment to return to the Moon to establish a permanent base and to begin preparations for a manned mission to Mars...Soooo here's my version of the Mars 1 spaceship. Okay...Ion engines in the back with a connecting grid to the service module with food, supplies and the gold tanks are oxygen (you have to bring lots!) Next the command module (the place the 6 astronauts will live for the 6 month trip) Those metal circular rings rotate to create a magnetic field to deflect cosmic radiation. The front is the landing craft (which is actually the Daz Stinger re-textured) And of course the whole thing rotates end over end to create artificial gravity. Not bad for 147 Gizillion-Bizillion Dollars!!! The background shows the Milky Way and the Sun as it would look from Mars orbit. Oh yeah...Look close...two astronauts are doing some maintenance work. Thanks for looking. Your comments and suggestions are encouraged! Have a great day. Steve

Excellent image. I'd say close to 200 Gizillion-Bizillion, though.

First off I would like to say that I really think you did a great job on modeling the spaceship. A lot of detail and very well thought out design. I do have some suggestion though. The ship is lighted from the opposite side from where the sun is, where is you light source? The planet Mars is also lighted on the wrong side. Over all a very nice render and with just a readjustment to the lighting I feel that you will have an excellent presentation. You are really off to a very good start. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with this model and also with what you come up with next. Cheers, David

Lighting was done so we could see the ship. If it was correct...the whole image would be in darkness. Sometimes 'art' makes adjustments.
