Sometimes the birds are just too far away, (well, most of the time), but sometimes the scenery is nice.

This is a fantastic shot, so majestic in so many ways, primarily because of the almost panoramic POV. The eagles perching seem somewhat lonely and forlorn, but I think it's because so much of the image is open and spacious...it imparts a great mood, though...not a lonely mood, but something indescribable, like one of those Japanese emotions that can only be expressed in the 17 carefully chosen syllables of a haiku. Fantastic. I love it when an image triggers "haiku feelings" like this one does.

last January when I was in Utah I saw 3 huge eagles perched in a tree near a farm house and it was so cold I did not have my 500 tele back then so the captures I made was so far away that I never posted.the wind chill was probably in the single digits and my heavy coat was in Vegas.the old story a dollar short a dollar poorer the scenery you captured is beautiful as the eagles

There must be something about these large upright, bare logs that attracts these eagles. There is a similar tree in Lake County, CA that also hosts eagles. I like the sparseness of this shot. It has a feel of good hunting behind it.

A terrific capture! Seems like an isolated, and tranquil space in nature to collect one's thoughts and watch for birds. Very calm, serene and ever so peaceful. Excellent lighting and colours! Truly beautiful!
