Hi, I'm Jeannette Leboeuf-Kassam - Although I now reside in the U.S., spending 24 years of my life in Kenya has colored my perceptions with a fascination with rich color, texture, rhythm and intense contrasts which pervade my artistic expression in all its forms...
About the Mandalas:Â Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning circle or completion. While the mandala is Hindu in origin, it is also used in religions such as Buddhism. In common usage, mandala is a geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically from a human point of view. Carl Jung saw the mandala as "a representation of the unconscious self" I tend to view mandalas in all these ways. Mandalas can be used to focus attention during meditation, drawing one's attention toward the center. My mandalas are usually not strictly geometric, yet I believe they do serve the same purposes.
