Description

The flames and lighting are still not right, but I'm tired of fooling with them for now.
Check Envisage for updates.

I've worked on the image a bit and have a new version: DragonSlayer [2].

I think the flames are just perfect! Not only you've captured ther flames hitting the shield, but also the lightening reflecting off the ground is astonishing!

Fantastic image! But I have no idea why these flames aren't good enough... I can feel the heat from over here! Great work.

I understand what you mean, Where you say the flames are no right. These effects are best accomplished by using layers and compositing. Try rendering different variations of the flame it's self One frame should even have motion blur enabled and a hint of motion on the HV object applied. These seperate flame renders are the composited together using varying amounts of transparency to get a better effect and also doing it that way gives you greater control over the look of the flame as well. Also you can make subtle color corrections over the defferent flame elements. I hope this gives ou a few ideas. Not everything needs to be done in LW and rarely is on professional effects productions.

Definately very cool. The fire looks good, but like everything we do, it could be that little bit better. I think we're all perfectionists here. The only change I would make would be to add a load of glow around the fire. I'd imagine that cave is pretty dusty, which would cause pleny of glowage. I would maybe soften the shadows a bit too. 9.5/10

Great image, and great idea. The fire is good, but to increase that you can try to work by compositing some layers like pnevai sad you. One other thing. In my opinion is good if you add some detail to the cave, something like rock or particular formation, the scene now it seems to be too clear. And remember... lead on brave adventurer! Your quest await! eheheheheheh

The title is slightly ironic, but the flames are brilliant.
