Description

The distress signal said they were caught in an electromagnetic storm over an M-Class moon. Their reason: Unintentional entrapment during attempted takeover of the ship by exiled criminals. But why were the criminals frantically trying to escape? The official report filed by Captain Jean-Luc Picard says that their consciousness were seperated from their bodies by the high electromagnetic activity. Logically the event therefore is scientifically explained away...but there are always unexplained phenomena. What Really happened... The souls of the criminals were separated...by the Flying Dutchman. In its endless pursuit of the souls of mortals, the Dutchman emerges from beneath the fabric of space and time near the moon of Mab-Bu VI once every two decades. The helpless criminals a perfect target for Davy Jones. Frantic to escape the moon before the Dutchman returned to claim more souls, the criminals attempted to take over the crew of the Essex. Unfortunately the Dutchman arrived sooner than expected, attracted by the Essex. The Essex' limited equipment had no chance of detecting the Dutchman, overwhelmed by the storm of electromagnetic beams from the Dutchman's guns. The small Earth ship was destroyed but not after its crew were claimed by the immortal vessel of the undead...
