Description

"That androgynous Greek woman really irks me," muttered Lily. "But maybe she's right. I have absolutely no training. I'm getting too old. I'm fat... I'm no warrior! I don't know how I ended up in this situation, but I just want to go home and be the old maid I was meant to be." "Don't let her get to you," said the voice in Lily's head. "She may have more training than you, and she may be more physically powerful than you, but she is doomed to fail." "How so?" asked Lily. "She craves recognition, glory, heroism, fame... These things lead fighters to make foolish choices on the battlefield in hopes that someone important will notice their actions. Unlike you, she doesn't have what it takes to be a great warrior." "Me? Have what it takes?" asked Lily, eyes wide. "What are you talking about?" "You don't care about fame, or glory, or pride, or the role of women on the field of battle," explained the voice. "You only care about destruction." "Are you sure? Because I..." "Your urge to kill is stronger than your will to live. This is the mark of the perfect warrior." "I'm..." "You are the perfect warrior." "I am the perfect warrior," repeated Lily, clutching her axe. "Yes..." purred the voice. ---- Our friend Lily, the buxom but brain damaged barbarian continues to wrestle with her personal demons. Here is her portrait in the good old Block Style! I'm trying something new this time: making a two-toned "reductive cut" image. Figuring out how to do this was the hardest part. I made the two "inks" slightly out of register to add a bit of realism. I hope you like it!

I like both the style of the picture and the story. Great job.
