Description
Another type of insectivorous plant from my collection. It is pitcher plant, the botanical name is of the genus Sarracenia. For some background information, insects are attracted to the plant due to nectar forming at the rim; they then get caught up following the trail of nectar into the plant and fall inside. There are downward pointing hairs inside that prevent the insects’ escape, so they eventually die and rot, to be absorbed by the plant for food.

Enjoy.
