Description

This is a shot of one of my old co-workers Angela. It was kind of an impromptu shoot... It was right around sunset, on a fairly overcast day with rain threatening. Not exactly optimum shooting conditions, but sometimes you work with what you get handed. Thankfully we had a gold reflector, so at least I was able to tweak the lighting a bit (hence no dark shadows under the brim of her hat). I do have to admit, we had a ball doing the shoot, and it was kind of cool to have a challenge tossed at me that turned out well. Shot with my Olympus E-300, 50mm lens @ f3.5 and 100 ISO. Raw development done in Photoshop CS2 using the DNG converter (I'm sold on the DNG format... if you haven't experimented with it, look into it. The benefits of an open, consistent, and publicly documented raw file standard are really worth checking out... especially if you're like me and don't want to have to use a proprietary piece of software to enjoy shooting in raw). No real postwork done other than the raw development. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Comments and crits are always welcome. Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Holiday.

Lovely shot. Thank you for all the details and taking the oppurtunity to turn a not so idle condition into a magic moment. Take care and stay focused or life will come out blurry : )

I'm not very experienced with real photography, but I love how this artwork looks! And if there would have been darker shadows, I think it wouldn't look so good anymore. This is beautiful the way it is!!! Nothing to improve imo! Happy new year! ~Sassy~

Wow, I have to say I think you really nailed this image. Here you capture a strikingly beautiful girl in a very relaxed and natural pose which makes her all the more beautiful. You really did an amazing job with the lighting at hand. I hope Angela got a copy of this pic, she deserves it.
