Description
Finished my work-in-progress and learned a lot.
Still learning facial proportions, but it's better now.
Used Vue 6.5 Infinite and Poser 7, SkinVue 6.3 and Daz Plugin, Photoshop for blurring background, frame and adding noise to the too clean uniform.
DAZ V4.1, backdrop from Stonemason's "Sector 15", Sci-Fi Outfit for V4, Wildcat hair. My own Silo 3D models for electronic probe and toroidal sci-fi machine.
Appreciate the help and advice folks.
Thanks for viewing - critique very welcome...

Cool POV. Good render and lighting.

Maybe the shadows are a bit too dark. Judging from the background, there seems to be enough ambient light, however she and the toroidal machine have very dark shadows. The probe tip seems to be a light source, judging by her hand, but it doesnt seem to iluminate her outfit. Or, more probably, maybe it is but the effect is just too broad to be seen. You might want to make it a quadratic light (or even stronger atenuation), so that the effect is more localized and therefore more visible. Her smile seems a bit fake and her teeth dont seem to have sufficient highlights (I normally apply SSS to the teeth of my portraits). She is facing the camera full front, which isnt very "artistic", IMHO, nor very "charming". It would be nicer if she would be kind of surprised by the camera, her head still facing down and her eyes looking up to the camera, 3/4 profile, maybe even one eyebrow slightly up. In fact, this 3/4 thing could apply to the whole scene. Everything is full front (background, toroidal and her). That's a bit dull, IMHO. You could try to diversify the angles, to see how it looks. Her skin might need some more "imperfections". That's easy with skinvue. Her eyes could become more "alive" if you apply a bit of a reflection, instead of just a highlight. Well, I wrote all this, I hope you take it on the positive side. You said you expected critiques and since you got none so far, I thought I'd throw my two cents. If you ever make a new version, send me a PM so that I see it. Thanks!

Thanks for the crit Rutra - all ways a big help and much too rare still. I'm kind of digesting the current look, before doing the next batch of improvements. Pretty sure though that I'll darken the backdrop to match the dark shadows better - rather than lightning the shadows. Probably increase overall contrast a bit too. I like your SkinVue idea - was gradually upping the skin imperfections in each version so far and want to do more of that. Good tips on the teeth and eyes. My concept here is one of symmetry (even though she is not centered in the frame) so I need to keep the straight ahead poses. Maybe a completely different version without the symmetry would be worth a try, or centering everything in this version - but little backdrop will show then. Decisions, decisions, lol..
